Where I have been

Sun Jan 25, 2009, 5:50 PM
Recent past: in bed with bronchitis. I hate winter.

All last year: working on a PhD in chemistry in Japan, which generally involves spending about 75 hours a week in a lab. This will likely continue until about April 2011.

I've drawn bits and pieces and sketches occasionally, but really not had the time to properly colour or finish anything to the point that I feel like uploading it. I don't have a lot of time for hobbies any more - can barely fit in exercise, let alone books, music and drawing!

Living in Japan is interesting, but I can't see myself staying permanently. My brothers visited me over New Year, which was fantastic but has left me a little lonely and homesick. I turned 24 this month and should probably update my Deviant ID thingy to reflect that.

I think that's about all the major news.

I knew you had that tablet but you never mentioned this before

Hey! I have no clue why I didn't let you know. :p I actually haven't posted anything in ages. I need to go and take more pictures and play around with Photoshop some more. Haven't been able to do so as much recently!

you row, too? I've never met an artist+rower before :) Are you very fluent in Japanese? I'm taking it as a language and I really love it :D

Yeah, started when I was 13 and love the sport to bits - unfortunately not many other people are into it in Japan so I'm not in a crew at the moment. Always glad to meet a fellow boatie though!

My Japanese isn't fluent, but I'd say conversational - the only thing that really lets me down now is my vocab. (And of course kanji...)
:iconalex1001:
Same here, I also started when I was 13. I'm also the best in my boat, at least, I was last season.
I'm only beginning Japanese, so I know a bit of vocab but I still need to work on my grammar and especially kanji. They're so hard to remember (1,500 letters! Dx) I'm taking at least 3 more years of it so I'm sure I'll be much better by the end of that time.

I used this one [link] with a couple of minor alterations (one of my brothers doesn't like coconut). It's incredibly rich, but quite delicious and moist :D
